Adopt-A-Highway: Service, Stewardship, and Uplift in Cleveland
By Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. — Zeta Omega Chapter •
The Zeta Omega Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. proudly participates in the Adopt-A-Highway Program as a demonstration of our cardinal principles: Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift. Through this initiative, our chapter continues its legacy of service by maintaining cleaner, safer roadways in the city of Cleveland and setting an example of civic pride.
What Adopt-A-Highway Is
The Adopt-A-Highway Program, run in partnership with the Ohio Department of Transportation, allows community organizations to take responsibility for a designated stretch of highway. Groups commit to regular cleanups, while ODOT provides the necessary safety training, equipment, and signage recognizing the participating chapter.
Why It Matters in Cleveland
- Cleaner neighborhoods: Litter-free highways improve our city’s image and make communities more welcoming.
- Environmental protection: Reducing roadside trash helps keep Cleveland’s parks, streams, and neighborhoods safe from pollution.
- Community pride: Roadside signs honoring Zeta Omega Chapter showcase our fraternity’s ongoing commitment to uplift.
- Youth involvement: A great way to engage the next generation in community service and mentorship.
